Hectic Times...

We sure have had a lot of things going on this week...

I started drooling up a storm, and my gums were really uncomfortable. It made me feel better to gum my lower lip and gnaw on my hands. Mom looked in my mouth and said my two lower front teeth are coming in, and that I would be a little uncomfortable for a while. Apparently I am "teething" already...

On Thursday we drove down to San Diego to pick up Grandma Schafer so that she could come stay with us and keep me company. Mom loaded the car while Grandma held me in her arms; boy did we look silly!
We spent the weekend cleaning the house, and Grandma sewed me some new tu-tu's!!! We had a fashion show and took pictures in my new outfits.

This time Grandma brought a wheel chair with her and took me for all sorts of rides in the house. On Sunday we took a trip to Costco and dad bought me some really neat DVD's. Mom said they are good for my imagination, and they will help me to learn. I love to watch and listen to them in my chair. Mom jokes that now she will have some time to get things done. I loved sitting on Grandmas lap in the wheelchair while we were at Costco because there were so many new things to look at. Everyone stopped us and commented on what a great baby I am. I don't mean to brag, but I did look fabulous in the outfit that Debbie gave me, she sure is good to me!

On Friday we took Jackson to play at the beach. People on the streets were laughing at the four of us!
Mom had planned on driving Grandma back to San Diego on Monday, but when we woke up we heard the news about the devastating fires that were burning all over California. Dad had to drive in to the Irvine fire zone, which he said looked like Beirut, to go to work. We sat and watched TV all day to find out if our family and friends in San Diego were OK. Mom said the fires were close to many people's homes, so we said prayers for those evacuated. There has been a lot of anxiety in the house as we watch the TV to get updates. Mom said I can't go outside, and that we have to keep the house closed up so that I won't breathe the smoke. Unfortunately it is hot and humid, and all of us are stuffy and congested. Mom, dad, and grandma keep reassuring me that things will be Ok, but I am worried about all the homes of the people we care about. In Jamul the fire is close to Grandpa's house, as well as the Binkert's, the Umbarger's, and many others. We hope and pray that they will be spared. Grandma bought me a new doll which made me feel better. I fall asleep with her and am able to relax for a while.

All of our prayers go out to those affected by these fires, and want everyone to know that we are here to help if they need it. Mom say's that we will be driving grandma down to San Diego this weekend if the freeways are open, so I am hoping to cheer-up everyone with a smile!
