Closing out 2010!!!

After the Christmas crowds left it was a little lonely at home. All the holiday excitement was dwindling, and our calendar of events looked was pretty empty. There wasn't much to do around town since it was freezing outside, but Mom welcomed the unseasonably cold weather with open arms and took this chance to dress Macie and I up in our warm weather clothing (purchased months ago when we were preparing for another Ohio winter).

I hate to say it, but both Macie and I loved putting on our fur shrugs and posing around the house...

Aside from trips to the grocery store or Lifetime, most of our activities for the week had to take place indoors at home since it was WAY TOO COLD to venture outside for long (in the 30's). We occupied all our extra time by singing songs and, of course, playing a little dress up.

Macie wasn't in the mood to put on a princess dress, but the two of us had fun running around together anyway...

Mom suggested we sing some songs to pass the time, so we helped Macie with her ABC's:

Then we moved on to the pirate song from Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland which is a FAVORITE of Macie's:

The New year was only a few days away, and Mom, Macie and I were busy with our normal weekly routine when we got a surprising phone call from Uncle Ryan and Aunt Liz letting us know that they were coming to visit us- we were so excited we could hardly wait. Mom insisted we go to school that morning, so despite my protests to sit at home and wait for them to arrive, we bundled up and faced the elements.

Thank goodness for Miss Elizabeth because the new coat she bought me kept me warm and brought me tons of attention from admirers (can't blame them- the coat is awesome!).

Even Macie had to bundle up in a fur for our trip across town.

We went to bed that night with promises that we would wake up in the morning to our new house guests!!! First thing in the morning I jumped out of bed to see Uncle Ryan and Aunt Liz. We enjoyed a fun morning of games, song, and play.

After dressing for the day we took Ryan and Liz on a car ride around town to show them all the neat things we have discovered in Scottsdale.

That night we went to a New Year's Eve dinner at sushi and afterwards came home and ate some peanut butter balls while Mom was putting Macie to bed. I was excited to be able to stay up with the "big people" and hang out.

As you can tell, I thoroughly enjoyed myself as I ate desert and entertained the crowd.

By 9:30 I was exhausted from a full day of fun with family and passed out well before midnight (I guess Mom didn't make it either, so I don't feel so bad). We woke early the next morning ready for more fun with Aunt Liz and Uncle Ryan. Throughout the morning we played at home and had an awesome time with family!!!

The morning flew by, and before we knew it Ryan and Liz had to pack up and head back to San Diego. Mace and I gave big goodbye hugs and thanks for all the fun we had with them.

The following Monday our schedule resumed as normal, as it was the first official Monday of the New Year, and I had to go to school. The weather hadn't improved over the past week, so we still had to bundle up before leaving the house. Mom definitely didn't mind...

Later that afternoon Macie and I played with some left over holiday packaging, and had more fun than we have had in a while. Funny how, only a few weeks after Christmas, we have already lost interest in the expensive stuff...

I sure love having a sister, and am looking forward to all the fun we will have in the upcoming year!!!!!!!
