Hectic Times...

We sure have had a lot of things going on this week...

I started drooling up a storm, and my gums were really uncomfortable. It made me feel better to gum my lower lip and gnaw on my hands. Mom looked in my mouth and said my two lower front teeth are coming in, and that I would be a little uncomfortable for a while. Apparently I am "teething" already...

On Thursday we drove down to San Diego to pick up Grandma Schafer so that she could come stay with us and keep me company. Mom loaded the car while Grandma held me in her arms; boy did we look silly!
We spent the weekend cleaning the house, and Grandma sewed me some new tu-tu's!!! We had a fashion show and took pictures in my new outfits.

This time Grandma brought a wheel chair with her and took me for all sorts of rides in the house. On Sunday we took a trip to Costco and dad bought me some really neat DVD's. Mom said they are good for my imagination, and they will help me to learn. I love to watch and listen to them in my chair. Mom jokes that now she will have some time to get things done. I loved sitting on Grandmas lap in the wheelchair while we were at Costco because there were so many new things to look at. Everyone stopped us and commented on what a great baby I am. I don't mean to brag, but I did look fabulous in the outfit that Debbie gave me, she sure is good to me!

On Friday we took Jackson to play at the beach. People on the streets were laughing at the four of us!
Mom had planned on driving Grandma back to San Diego on Monday, but when we woke up we heard the news about the devastating fires that were burning all over California. Dad had to drive in to the Irvine fire zone, which he said looked like Beirut, to go to work. We sat and watched TV all day to find out if our family and friends in San Diego were OK. Mom said the fires were close to many people's homes, so we said prayers for those evacuated. There has been a lot of anxiety in the house as we watch the TV to get updates. Mom said I can't go outside, and that we have to keep the house closed up so that I won't breathe the smoke. Unfortunately it is hot and humid, and all of us are stuffy and congested. Mom, dad, and grandma keep reassuring me that things will be Ok, but I am worried about all the homes of the people we care about. In Jamul the fire is close to Grandpa's house, as well as the Binkert's, the Umbarger's, and many others. We hope and pray that they will be spared. Grandma bought me a new doll which made me feel better. I fall asleep with her and am able to relax for a while.

All of our prayers go out to those affected by these fires, and want everyone to know that we are here to help if they need it. Mom say's that we will be driving grandma down to San Diego this weekend if the freeways are open, so I am hoping to cheer-up everyone with a smile!

Life is sure FUN!

This week was a blast! I had so much fun, I don't know where to begin... Each night after work Dad and I had conversations with one another, and I sure love to "talk." I try to mimic the noises he makes. Mom says that I am growing up to fast. Look how big I am:

We went down to San Diego on Thurday night and got to spend time with lots of fun people! On Friday I got to spend the day with Grandma Schafer. Since her foot is still hurt, and she can't walk, we got to play together on the couch ALL day. I even posed for some glamour shots by deb...

That night we went out to Jamul and had a party at Grandpa Ron's. Lots of people who love me were there: Aunt Connie, Uncle Randy, Great Grandma Schafer, Cousin Brandon, Linda and Cal, Jeanie; we spent the whole night having lots of laughs. Grandpa Schafer is sure silly, he was howling at me and making noises. I sure like him!

On Saturday I got to spend the WHOLE morning with daddy while mom ran some errands. While she was gone dad and I talked to each other as we watched football. I can't wait to grow up and play catch with him.

On Saturday night we got to go to Jason and Liz Mahan's wedding. It was on the beach in Coronado, and I LOVED the string quartet that was playing at the ceremony, I even tried to sing along to the music. I met a lot of nice people at the wedding, and got to spend some time with the BEAUTIFUL bride. I hope to look that pretty when I grow up!

On Sunday morning I got to go with mommy to Jolynn's bachelorette party. We ate donuts and talked with lots of mommy's friends from high school. In the afternoon we got to go to another wedding! John and Tamara Romeo got married in Del Mar and I had a great time seeing all of the wonderful people daddy works with. Daddy called Kim and Terri the baby whisperers because when they held me I would fall asleep (: The wedding was incredibly beautiful, and one-of-a-kind! I got to say hi to Marilyn Monroe, and listen to Frank Sinatra sing my favorite Yankee song "New York, New York." I also got to spend time with another beautiful bride, who was beaming with joy! Every time she rubbed my head I would close my eyes and sigh, she sure had the magic touch! At the reception they had wonderfully bright colors for me to look at, and mom even let me play with the feathers on the table; boy did I have fun!

Mommy and daddy said they we very proud of me for behaving SO WELL the entire weekend.

I had such an exciting weekend that I conked out on the way home and slept through the whole night!!! If this is any indication of all the fun things to look forward to in life I am going to be a very happy girl!

What a busy week!

Mom and I were sure busy this past week! Grandma Schafer had surgery on her foot and we stayed in San Diego to take care of her. Mom had her hands full with the two of us, but Grandma and I sure had fun. Grandma and I would lie in bed and read the paper together in the mornings.

We stopped by and saw Great Grandma Jensen and she gave me a Halloween bear! I spent hours staring at the bright colors and touching the fur. It made me happy and I took naps holding it in my arms.

While we were in San Diego I got to go to Jamul to see Grandpa Schafer and Great Grandma Jean. They sure are fun to hang out with! Great Grandma Jean was rubbing my head and I really liked it! I was "cooing" and "aahing" the whole time. I made sure to let her know that I didn't want her to stop by screaming out loud.

The week in San Diego was a lot of fun but I missed my daddy a whole lot! I spent the evenings waiting for him to sing to me and to rock me to sleep, but all I got was his voice coming from mommy's phone. I was glad to get back home to my daddy and the buddies. Jax welcomed me home by giving me a big kiss on the nose, and dad rocked me to sleep as he sang me the bouncy song. Now I know why they say "there is no place like home."
