February: A Month FULL of Fun!

February got off to a great start!  For one, Dad decided I was COOL enough to play some chords on his Les Paul...

Cool, right?!?! And at school it was my week to "share" something special with my class.  I rummaged through my room for hours, and after lots of consideration, decided to bring my My Little Ponies to school to share with my class.

As you can see, I was pretty excited about it!!!

February flew by quickly, and before I knew it Valentines Day had arrived!  Mom treated the family to a breakfast of heart shaped omelets, and all of us loved them!

I couldn't wait to get to school for my Valentines Party, so Mom quickly dressed me up in my Valentines Day outfit (a little subdued this year), but I loved the heart and felt very festive.

My favorite Valentine even came with Mom and Macie to bring me to school!

Macie loved showing Dad our morning"routine" when dropping me off  (it includes a walk over a bridge, a hop, skip, and jump on some steeping stones, and a stop on the bench for a photo op- EVERY MORNING, per our request).

That night we had a Valentines Surprise Party for Dad.  Macie, Mom, and I all worked super hard to decorate the house and make him a special meal.

Macie's favorite part of the night was desert- Mom couldn't stop laughing since she had frosting ALL OVER her little nose.

The week after Valentines Day Grandpa Jerry and Cindy came to town!  Macie and I were SO excited to see them that we all wore each other out on the first night.

Unfortunately for me, the following night was my Daddy Daughter Dance- an event I'd been waiting almost 350 days for.  I felt a little slow in the morning, but Mom didn't notice any big difference in my behavior.  She assumed I needed to nap early since I seemed a little sluggish, but she had NO idea how yucky I was feeling.  I ended up sleeping for about 3 hours, and when Mom finally woke me up to get ready for the dance I could barely move.  That was when Mom discovered that I had a fever, and asked me if I wanted to stay home and rest instead of going to the dance.  I looked at her like she was crazy and adamantly yelled "NO".  I sucked it up while Mom brushed my hair and put on my makeup, but when it came to getting dressed I wasn't too enthusiastic...

By the time Mom put on my dress and crown I had mustered up enough energy to smile for the camera.

Because Mom had worked REALLY hard making my dream ball gown (I told her I wanted a black and pink dress with a super full skirt that went out like Cinderella's did when she twirled) I felt obligated to twirl so that she could take some pictures.

After a few twirls I had to sit down on the floor to rest my legs.  Mom couldn't resist taking a picture...

I perked up when my handsome Dad came down the stairs and offered me his hand.

Dad walked me out to the car and I tried really hard to put on a smile!

I was SO excited to spend the evening with my Dad that nothing, including a fever, was going to stop me from my big night.

Macie pulled a "Macie" and rode her trike around the yard naked while horrified Mom was trying to get me situated in the car.

The drive down to Tempe was about 30 minutes, so Mom hung my ball gown in the back of the car and put on my jammies so that I could be comfortable on the drive.  Dad couldn't believe that I fell asleep before we made it to the freeway.

Bella and her family met us at the dance, and Miss Jackie kindly helped me get dressed since poor Dad was kind of clueless...

At the dance Bella and I twirled with the Princesses, but my energy was clearly low.

After about an hour we all decided it was time for me to get to bed.  I didn't even put up a fight as Dad carried me to the car.  At home I went straight to my room, but before bed made sure to thank Dad for a special night.

In the morning I woke up refreshed and without a fever- talk about bad timing. Poor Mom felt bad for me, but I was just grateful I got to go at all.  That morning Grandpa Jerry and Cindy came over and entertained us while Mom worked on Macie's dress for her first Daddy Daughter Dance that evening at the Lifetime in Gilbert.  I told her all about the amazing things I got to do at the dance that she couldn't wait to go and experience everything for herself!

Mom finished her dress just as Macie woke up from her afternoon nap.  Macie was SO excited to put on a big fancy dress!

Mom couldn't stop taking pictures of Macie as she twirled around the front yard.

Mom worked on Macie's finishing touches, but knew that her efforts were most likely in vain (Macie is such a firecracker that it was highly unlikely that hair, makeup, and accessories would arrive at the dance unscathed).

The whole way to the dance Macie talked about all the things her and Dad were going to do.

According to Dad, Macie spent most of her time dancing around with the princesses,

eating snacks,

and participating in fun activities (face painting).

Dad and Macie danced the night away, and when Macie arrived home she couldn't stop talking about all the fun she had.

In the morning Grandpa and Cindy came over to the house for brunch.

After breakfast settled, Dad took Grandpa, Cindy, Macie, and I on a hike to see some ruins.

We had a great time hiking, and enjoyed learning all about the Arizona plants and wildlife.

The following week Mom and Dad announced that the family would be taking it easy during the week to save up energy for ANOTHER DADDY DAUGHTER DANCE at the Lifetime in Scottsdale.  Macie and I couldn't believe that we got to go to another dance with Dad- to put the icing on the cake, they told us that our friend Bella was going to join us with her family as well!!!  Mom spent the week revamping our dresses, while Macie and I conserved our energy and did our best to behave.

When the weekend arrived Macie and I counted down the minutes!  After naps, Mom worked on our hair and makeup, and we couldn't keep the smiles off our faces.

In the car we both hammed it up,

and I was SO glad that I felt better than the previous week.

I felt so good in fact, that I laughed and smiled even more than usual!

In the parking lot we met up with Bella and all of us posed together.

All of us walked together with our Dads and couldn't have been happier!

Dad walked us into the dance feeling like a Million Bucks!

At the dance we all enjoyed craft time together,

and got to make princess wands.

Once we were situated Mom made an attempt to sneak out and have some "free" time, but didn't make it out the door before her assistance was required.  It was then that she realized her original plan was a pipe dream, and in all honesty, she would rather watch all the action first hand anyway.

After taking pictures, and before sitting down to eat, our whole crew went outside to take a special horse and carriage ride.

Mom took advantage of our time waiting in line to coerce us into posing for some pictures.

When it was our turn, Dad was a gentlemen and helped us into the carriage.

Our ride around the club was amazing, and we all felt like pampered princesses.

With rumbling tummies we went inside and sat down for a pasta dinner.

Bella and I spent lots of time tearing up the dance floor,

while Macie meandered through the crowd eyeing the bounce house.  Mom had vetoed it the second we walked in, but after an hour she took off Macie's tulle skirt and gave her the green light...

Before long Macie was starting to tear her dress, so Mom put her in her jammies and let her loose.  Macie blazed around the dance floor, taking down anyone who got in her way.  She is definitely a free spirit, and is difficult to contain...

Bella, Macie, and I danced the night away, and literally closed down the dance floor!

We had an amazing night with our family and were incredibly grateful to have had the opportunity to go a second weekend!!!

My school schedule resumed as normal the following week.  That Wednesday our class celebrated "Wacky Wednesday" and were told that we could wear something super WACKY to school...

The night before I picked out my WACKY outfit and had Mom roll my hair into lots of curlers to that it would be SUPER full in the morning.  At breakfast Macie and I ate some WACKY eggs and chicken,

and when we were done Mom undid my curlers and revealed my WACKY hair do:

Upstairs I dressed in the outfit I chose the night before- my AXL outfit!!!- and surprised Dad with my WACKY look...

Before leaving for school I picked out a pair of arm warmers from Mom's "store" in the garage, and posed for some pictures.

Everyone at school LOVED my WACKY Wednesday Outfit!

The rest of the week was event-less, aside from our usual fashion shows each morning:

Mom was really excited to have me wear one of her new school creations (she has decided that dresses and pants aren't necessarily the ideal apparel to wear when playing rough on the playground, so she is stepping outside the box with matching short and tank sets).

As much fun as she is having "branching out", Mom is glad she can still design play skirts for Macie...

To closeout February on a great note, my school held it's annual Bike-A-Thon to raise money for St.Jude's Children's Hospital.  I had worked hard for a whole week, reading and learning the "bike rules of the road", and collecting sponsors for my event.  When the day came I was ready!!!

Dad helped me make sure my bike was all tuned up and then took me to school, bike and all!

Macie and Mom showed up for the event a few hours later, ready to cheer us on!

They watched as I rode out of the auditorium with a big smile on my face.

Macie picked out a front row seat, and watched as all of my classmates and I lined up and started the ride.

We all rode around in circles through the quad,

and really enjoyed this fun and charitable event.

I had a minor incident on my bike (fall) that ended my mental participation (and brought on some big tears), so Mom pulled me to the side and cheered me up by putting Macie in my bike seat and pushing us around the walkways!!!

When all of my friends were done, we sat on the bench and posed for some pictures.

We were all rewarded with ice cream push up pops for our hard work, and they were AWESOME!

Even Macie got to join in the ice cream fun...

It was the perfect way to end an awesome month!!!

This coming month of March is chocked full of events- birthdays, breaks, parties, etc., so check back soon to find out all the fun details...
