We love our Dad!!!

At the end of February Lifetime held its annual Daddy Daughter Dance, and Macie and I couldn't have been more excited to attend.  Mom shopped around and found some beautiful dresses for Macie, Presley, and me, and then she made matching feather hair pieces that we all adored.  When the big day finally arrived we counted down the hours until it was time to get ready.  After we were pampered at the salon (Mom's made a makeshift salon in her bathroom where we each had our nails painted and our hair done), we put on our dresses and ran (literally) out the door.

Mom stopped us before we got in the car and made us come back in the garage so that she could take some pictures:

She couldn't believe how grown up I looked, and how mature and ladylike I behaved!

The same could not be said for Macie- she couldn't stand still to take a picture, and in the brief moments that she did stand still she insisted on being silly.

Presley was thrilled to be in a fancy dress, and was eager to show off her fancy dance moves in her frilly dress.

We took a few more pictures with our Dad before heading out, and as usual, getting a group shot was difficult.

It didn't take long for Macie and Presley to tire of picture taking (notice Macie climbing through the rocks in the background of my picture with Dad).   I tried to help with Presley, but she was a lost cause- she was ready to go to the dance!!!

At Lifetime Dad walked his ladies down the hall with a proud smile on his face.

While we waited in line to get our wands, gloves, and tiaras, Mom snapped a few more pictures:

Even Nixon seemed to be enjoying the action!

We walked through the red carpet entrance into a room with balloons and twinkling lights- Presley was in Heaven!!!

Inside we posed one last time before we proceeded to eat, drink, dance, and play!!!

Presley was the first one on the dance floor and was obsessed with the balloons all over the ground.

She worked up quite an appetite, so we sat with Dad and ate dinner.  After dinner we dined on cupcakes we got to decorate ourselves.  Presley couldn't wait the 30 seconds it would take to frost hers, and dug right in.

She kept sneaking back to the table to grab more.  By the end of the evening she had eaten 4 that we knew about (Dad's employees kept catching her red handed)!

All of us enjoyed tearing it up on the dance floor.

While we were dancing 2 surprise guests joined the party- it was Anna and Kristoff from Frozen!!!

Presley DID NOT like Kristoff.  Every time he walked by she would shout "I no like him."  It was difficult to get her to stand in close proximity to him long enough even to snap a picture.

By 8 o'clock she was exhausted, so Mom and Nixon took her home.  She sure had a fun time at her first dance with Dad!

On the way out she told Mom about all the fun she had.  Since that night she has been asking to go back to the "Daddy Daughter Dance."- which sounds SOOO cute when she says it!

Macie, Dad, and I stayed at the dance and helped close down the dance floor.  We even helped the DJ pick out some music in his booth.  We greeted Mom with huge smiles, and tons of balloons (we got to take almost 30 of them when we left) when we got home, but were exhausted from all the action and went straight to bed.  Macie and I slept in that next morning, but Presley was up at sunrise ready to go!

After eating breakfast she spent most of the morning playing with some of the balloons we brought home from the dance (the balloons lasted for over a week and provided her with hours of entertainment).

That afternoon, while Mom was unpacking my backpack and getting it ready for the week ahead, she came across a writing activity I had written at school:

She couldn't have been more proud!

Monday morning the whole family awoke to something amazing- it had snowed that night while we slept!

We could hardly believe our eyes, and even though we were supposed to be getting ready for school, Mom let us dress in coats and boots and play outside!

Macie and I were bummed when Mom made us come inside and get ready for school.  We couldn't believe that she wasn't letting stay home and have a snow day!

After dropping us at school Mom and Presley went back home and played in the yard; they even built a snowman!

Presley ran around outside absolutely thrilled- it was her first real experience with snow!!!

It didn't take long before Jackson discovered that the snowman's eyes and nose were made from food...

By the time Macie and I returned home from school the snowman was barely upright.

The rest of the week wasn't too exciting.  Mom did find this cute sweater top that she wore when she was a baby and was really excited when it fit Presley!

Mom brought out the frog potty and encouraged Presley to try and use it.  All she did was sit on it and read.

Nixon had his 4 month checkup and Mom was shocked at how big he had gotten:

 15lbs
26 inches

He loves interacting with everyone and is ready to roll over any day! Check out they way he "talks" with Mom:

He still sleeps great through the night, and his personality is starting to develop!  His laugh is super silly:

The doctor said he was on the right track and doing great all around!

Presley had a fun time going to the doctor with Nixon because they gave her a lollipop!!!

Presley will be 2 in April, and she is becoming such a big girl.  She rides around with the big kids and loves being included in their "big kid" activities!

No matter what she is doing she always has a smile on her face.  She had brought our family such joy and we are grateful for everyday we spend with her!

Our family is fortunate to have so many wonderful smiles in our house!!!
