Fall Has Made Its Way to Nevada!

The weather finally began cooling down shortly after school began.  We were all thrilled, but Mom was most excited; she had been waiting forever to take Nixon and Presley outside without them over heating.  Nixon absolutely LOVES riding bikes and often sits at the door shrieking to be let outdoors.

Presley is big enough to let herself out, so Mom often finds her outside harassing Savi...

Before the real cold set in, we had one final swim with out neighborhood friends to say goodbye to summer!

We didn't last long, in fact, Macie and I barely made it for 10 minutes before we were complaining that frost bite was going to set in.

The following Monday, when we were at school, Mom and Uncle Will took down the pool.  What a process that was!  Presley and Nixon enjoyed splashing around and playing while the adults worked around them.

Now that we have been in school for a few weeks, we have our morning routines down.  I despise getting up in the morning, and often times have to been woken up my Mom.  Macie, on the other hand, rises with the sun and is ready to take on the world before most of its inhabitants wipe the sleep from their eyes.

To make the mornings more tolerable, I usually read while slowly forcing down some breakfast. I like to take my mornings nice and slow,

but  Macie, Presley, and Nixon have no problem shoveling down food just as fast as they can swallow.  They are all much more jovial in the morning than I will EVER be.

It is rare to find a morning when Presley isn't smiling. She fills our house with laughter.

Now that Nixon is mobile, Presley finds him much more interesting (and upsetting).  She loves pushing him around in his car and listening to his shrieks of excitement.

I guess this is how most of their days are spent while Macie and I are in school.

They both like anything that makes noise and causes trouble (:

Our weekdays have also become very routine.  Not much changes from week to week, and Mom still insists we have morning photo shoots before leaving for school.  Here are some of our favorite pictures:

After school we have a little more free time, but with dance, soccer, and school work our afternoons are pretty busy.   Every day Mom meets us at the bus stop, and every now and again Dad joins us!  That is always an awesome surprise!

Our weekends are usually busy as well.  We spend Saturdays at the soccer field, and Dad loves watching us play!  This is Macie's first year and she is doing phenomenal- multiple goals every game!

After the games, the family enjoys hanging out together at the park.  Nixon loves playing now that he can join in the fun!

Presley's favorite part of soccer seems to be the treats she manages to solicit from anyone and everyone...

In the afternoons we all enjoy spending family time together.  Whether its at home or somewhere around town, we always seem to have fun together.

I really enjoy being a big sister and helping my siblings learn to do things.  I help Nixon with the piano,

and help Presley learn to read.  She has taken after me, and enjoys reading in the "office."

I love helping Macie with fashion and posing.  I have to say, she has been a quick study!

Presley looks up to Macie and I, and is adamant that she is a "big girl" now.

She helps Mom whenever she can,

but poor Nixon has become rather apprehensive when Presley takes the cart...She is not gentle.

Speaking of being a "big girl", check out how lovely Presley looked when she put on her own makeup with a marker...

Mom insists that we are all growing up too quickly!

Towards the end of September we got an amazing surprise.  Right before dinner one Saturday evening an unexpected visitor knocked at our door- it was AUNT HAYLEY!  She had come to Vegas for a quick weekend trip to spend time with the family!

On Sunday she took Macie and I to the ice rink and we had a fantastic time!!!

We were sad when her quick trip came to an end and she had to go back home.  The only thing keeping our spirits up was the short school week we had ahead.  Our close friends from Arizona were coming to visit us, so we only have to make it through 2 days of school.  Due to all the anticipation, it was WAY harder than it sounds.

Our friends, the Ketcham's, finally arrived late on a Tuesday night and we couldn't wait for the fun to begin!

We started our tour of fun at the Springs Preserve!

For the remainder of the week we went to all sorts of places; the Children's Museum,

the Container Park,

and, of course, Red Rock Canyon!!!

While Mom was home with a sleeping Nixon, Andrea and Jonathan took ALL the big kids on a hike at Red Rock.  Presley was thrilled that she got to go- it was her first time!

All of us enjoyed exploring the caves and climbing the rocks, but I think it was Presley whom ended up having the most fun.

After our long hike in the sun we deiced that some indoor fun at the ice rink was a must!

Dressed in our winter wear we hit the ice!

It was Presley's first time skating, so she hung onto the trainer for dear life.

She was definitely the cutest thing on the ice...

We all had a phenomenal time with our friends and are so grateful they came for a visit!

The month of October is almost here, and there will be so many fun things to do and celebrate.  Our family is looking forward to all things cold, candy, and creepy, but most of all we are looking forward to celebrating Nixon's FIRST birthday!!!

I don't know about you, but I'm sure excited...
