Presley Turns One!!!!!

Presley is One and couldn't be any more amazing!  From the second she wakes up everyday she fills our lives with smiles.

On April 10th, we celebrated Presley's first birthday!  She woke up early and was ready to join the party.

Mom made her favorite breakfast- a cheese omelet, and she gobbled it down.  Notice how she holds the fork and eats with her fingers...

I had to go to school, but Mom and Macie took Presley to gymnastics so she could celebrate and play with her friends.

I guess she spent most of her time playing with her new bear...

After playtime, Presley and her friends sat down for some birthday treats. After singing the birthday song, Mom gave Presley a bite of s cupcake.

She got a weird look on her face, and shook her head NO.

Mom couldn't believe that Presley didn't like cupcakes, so she tried giving her a cookie instead.  Her response to the cookie wasn't any better...

Just when Mom was about to give up, Cindy, one of Presley's friends that works at gymnastics came over with another kind of treat: a lollipop.  As you can see, Presley was SO excited...

After I got home from school the family had a party for Presley and she opened her birthday gift.  We got her a new bike seat so that she could join us on rides around the block.  She absolutely LOVED it (too bad the weather is getting to hot to ride).

By dinnertime Presley was a little cranky, so we tried to cheer her up.

Mom made her some of her favorites to eat,

and we discovered that she LOVES corn on the cob!

It was very humorous watching her try and eat it...

After we cleaned up from dinner, Mom brought out her birthday cake and we sang to her.

She loved the song, and immediately dove into the cake.

The fun ended once she tasted the frosting and decided she DID NOT LIKE IT!!!!

She perked up again once Mom cleaned her off, and we watched as she opened some more birthday cards and gifts from family.

Presley had a fun day and fell asleep with a smile.

It's hard to believe that she is already a year old.  She has grown so much in the last 12 months.  Check it out:

2 mo:  9lbs  22in
4 mo:  13lbs 25in
6 mo:  15lbs  27in
9 mo:  19lbs  28.5in
12mo:  21lbs  30.5in

Its no wonder she has grown so much, Presely gets tons of sleep and eats very well.  She sleeps from 8pm-6:30am every night without waking, and still takes two solid naps a day.  She eats most everything, and let's you know when she's had enough by smacking your hand out of the way as you are trying to feed her.  If she is feeding herself, she will let you know she is full by dropping pieces on the ground.

Mom switched her to whole milk, and she still loves her bottles.  She only gets one in the morning and one at night, but she shrieks with excitement when she sees it in Mom's hands.

Not only has grown in size, she has also grown in ability!  At one she is able to say about 15 words.  Mama and Dada were her first.  Ball, and up are among her favorites, but she LOVES to say HI.  Every chance she gets she says it aloud.  At home, at the store, where ever there is a crowd.  She recently started saying bye bye and asks Mom for bye bye when she is ready to go somewhere.  She says Ry-e, and May-ma, and loves addressing her big sisters.

Presley also stands on her own, and uses items around the house to help her navigate her steps.  She is incredibly fast crawler, so walking frustrates her.  She is not quite comfortable taking a step on her own, but does a god job keeping up when Macie and I walk with her.

One of Presley's favorite things to do at home is listen to classic Disney songs.  She loves to shake and dance to the music. She has even found ways to entertain  herself...

We all laugh as she turns around and around!

As you can see, Presley is an absolute joy.  Even when she is upset she is pleasant.  We are so blessed to share our lives with her and look forward to watching her grow over the next year!

March Madness

The months are getting busy as we approach the end of the school year.  As a result, time is flying by!

After getting back from California at the end of February, Mom and Dad surprised us with some AMAZING news...

The baby is due in October!  I am SO excited to be the big, big, big, sister, and Macie can't wait to be a big, big sister!!!

Our family has been spending lots of time taking it easy together.  On the weekends we have had lots of  birthday parties and events.  Here are a few pictures from a birthday party we went to at the farm:

We all got to take turns riding ponies,

taking hayrides,

and picking vegetables to eat from the garden.

We also helped Dean's family throw him a Star Wars laser tag party.  Mom and Dad dressed up to make it more fun for the kids.  Dad loved being Darth Vader while Mom was grateful that no one could tell she was the crazy lady dressed up like an Ewok (she had to google the images to see what an Ewok looked like since she has NEVER seen Star Wars).

We had a blast playing laser tag in their backyard!

Our family had a fun day!

That week we celebrated Dad's birthday by taking him to Golden Corral (macie and I insisted).  It was a nice and mellow celebration, and the family enjoyed  being together even if the food wasn't Dad's first choice.

That coming week was St.Patrick's Day, and at school we had to make Leprechaun traps.

I designed a trap for the Leprechaun and then we all helped put it together.  Even Presley joined in the fun...

We built a little house, and I thought we could lure him inside with the promise of gold...

I made sure to decorate it with pretty flowers and lots of sparkle!

Inside Mom helped me create a nice space for him to hang out after he is trapped.

I was SO excited to bring it to school to see if I would be one of the lucky ones to actually catch a leprechaun.

The morning of St.Patrick's Day Mom surprised us with green eggs and ham.  They looked cool, but both Macie and I were tentative...

Presley couldn't care less and dug right in!

I was so excited to put on the new outfit Mom made me for my special day!

After I went to school, Mom dressed Macie as a little leprechaun and she celebrated a fun day at Chaparral.  Mom even put special green snacks in her lunch (she used coloring spray to spray her sandwich and her pirate booty)!

That weekend my front tooth was wiggly.  I was very persistent, and during Yoga on Saturday, I pulled it out myself...

It wasn't long before the second one followed...

The weather in Arizona is still pleasant in March, so Mom decided to take us to the zoo before it gets too hot.  Macie made sure to pose with her favorite orangutang,

while we posed Presley in the clam shell.

Our family finished out the end of the month, excited that Presley would soon be celebrating her very first birthday!  We are SO grateful for our baby sister, and can't believe how fast she grew up.  She brings so much laughter into our lives...

and despite Mom not enjoying all of our games, is SO much fun to play with...

She is SO incredibly awesome!  It won't be long before she is chasing us through the house.

No matter where we are, or what we are doing, she brings joy to our lives!

Mom and Dad can't believe that before we know it there will be 4 of us...

So glad we get to add another to our crew!
