A Month Filled with LOVE

Well, this about sums up the activities that have been going on in our house this past month...

It's been a non stop concert at our house.  Both Presley and Nixon are OBSESSED with music.  Nixon favors the guitar, and Presley doesn't mind as long as she gets a microphone.  Dad is incredibly proud and can't wait until we can all rock out together.

He takes every chance he can get to cultivate their love for all things music...

Macie and I have stayed busy with school work, and it's pretty much been the same old, same old.  My class did get to go on a Field Trip to see the play The Big Friendly Giant.  I was thrilled to see a live production, but was mostly excited that we had to dress up!

When choosing my outfit, I had to go above and beyond my usual school attire (which is already a tad over the top according to some).  I decided that it was appropriate to wear my "old lady" outfit that Mom designed for my 100th day of school at Sonoran Sky.  The dress no longer fit, but I couldn't have been happier wearing the hat, glasses, purse, fur, and heels!

My outfit was a big hit at school, and despite the play being some what of a let down, getting out of the classroom for a whole day was great!

Macie was envious that I got to be fancy at school, so the following day Mom let Macie choose her own outfit. She was beyond ecstatic to be wearing the hat and the heels, and Mom made her promise that she wouldn't play "cats" with her friends at school that day.

I was also allowed to choose my own outfit for school that day...

Mom thinks I went a little overboard with the gold sparkles, but I thought I put together a nice ensemble.

The rest of the month Mom put together our outfits for school.  Here are a few of our favorites...

Presley has watched us pose and take pictures since she was a baby, and now insists that she has her picture take as well.  Mom can't help but laugh when she tries to pose like Macie and I.

Mom tries to get pictures of Nixon, but so far he is pretty camera shy!

Every now and then Mom manages to catch him smiling at the camera!

The weather in Las Vegas has been phenomenal, so Mom has been taking Presley and Nixon to the park while we are at school.  Nixon loves playing outdoors, and cries in protest every time he has to go home.

The local community park held its annual "snow day", and Mom took all of us out for an afternoon full of sledding in the sun.  Mom was thrilled that both Presley and Nixon enjoyed themselves!

Mom and Dad can't believe that the little ones have gotten so big.  At Nixon's 15 month check up this month Nixon measured 32.5 inches, and weighed 24.5 lbs!  We can't believe how big this walking, talking, little man has gotten!

After his appointment Mom took him to one of his favorite places; COSTCO!  He gets so excited when they pull into the parking lots.  Probably for the same reason Mom does- the samples!!!

With a belly full of food, Nixon passed out on the 5 min drive home.  Mom marveled at how big her little boy was getting...

During Nixon's short bout of sleep, Presley did everything she could to try and wake him up.  From kicking and bouncing, to laughing and singing.  Lucky for her he remained asleep, because Mom was sure mad at her devious behavior.

She can look so nice, yet be so naughty- both at the same time.

It is a gift.

A wicked gift.

Mom hopes that she discovers how and when to properly use it as she ages...

When the weather turned cold again, Mom spent her days indoors with the kids at the museum.  Presley has a new found love for paint, and Mom is grateful that the museum has an art room where she can be as creative (and as messy), as she wants.

Soccer for both Macie and I starts in a few weeks, so Mom has been taking advantage of our free time after school.  I do have to admit, it has been nice not having to rush around town.  On the weekends our family has enjoyed some peace and quiet at home reading and doing crafts.

Sometimes Macie and I even read together.  Mom and Dad love it when we do that!

Most of the time we all have trouble quieting down and relaxing.  Lucky for Mom I have discovered a new way to contain my noise.  Mom wishes that she could do that without worrying that CPS will knock down the door.

In preparation for Valentines Day this year, Mom bought some store bought cards to make things a little easier.  Unfortunately, when we got home from school and saw the ones she had purchased, a look of both disgust and dismay swept over my face.  When she asked what was wrong, I informed her that the cards were too juvenile for my 3rd grade class.  At that point Macie piped in and agreed (though I'm not sure she knew exactly what she was agreeing to).  Poor Mom then made a last minute decision that committed her to HOURS of work and cleanup; she suggested we hand make them ourselves.  After an hour of searching and sorting different craft items from the garage we were set to get started.  We had doilies, fancy paper, glitter, trim, rhinestones, patches, sequin- everything one would need to create world class valentines.

Mom failed to do the math before we started this project.  Both Macie and I each had to make 22 Valentines, including cards for our teachers and other staff.  15 minutes later, I was putting the finishing touches on my first card while Macie was still contemplating whose card she would begin with,

Two days, over 8 hours, and a HUGE mess of glitter, glue, and paper scraps, we completed our cards!!!

In between helping us glue and craft, Mom was hard at work making Valentines treats for our class.  She felt bad that she wasn't able to help out in the classroom, so she volunteered to do the work from home.  Halfway through the 7 different recipes, she lamented her decision, and declared that in the future she would be purchasing the assorted treat plate from Costco instead.

Macie and I were thrilled that she chose to make them this year- we had peppermint cookies, m&m cookies, 2 kinds of cake balls, 3 kinds of marshmallow pops- everything was AWESOME!

Both Macie and I had a fun time celebrating Valentines Day with our friends at school.

That weekend the Frankwick Family had a fun Valentines weekend at home.  We rode bikes outdoors and played in the warm sun.

Nixon spends most of his time at the park chasing every dog in sight.  It is really cute watching him run and shriek...

At night, Mom and Dad entertained us with some indoor shenanigans...

Nixon loved to go fast!

It is sure fun having lots of siblings- there is ALWAYS someone to play with!

Presley loves it when we dress her up and include her in our activities.  Here she is dressed up as a superhero...

I dressed myself up as Wonder Woman.  Mom couldn't stop laughing at my feather boa and my belt lasso.

That Sunday morning was Valentines Day, and Dad and Mom BOTH cooked breakfast!

For dinner that night the family enjoyed a steak dinner, and Uncle Will made sure to make the filets extra bloody (Macie and I want our meat close to walking).

Nixon spent most of his time at dinner that night figuring out how to eat corn on the cob.

Once he finally got the hang of it, he went to town!

Unfortunately for Mom, he hasn't quiet figured out how to use a fork, and his mash potatoes got everywhere!

Despite the mess, we all enjoyed our Valentine's dinner together as a family.

In the coming weeks our schedule is full.  There are so many great things ahead.  Mom is busy sewing away to finish our dresses for the Daddy Daughter Dance, and we can NOT wait until the coming weekend to dance the night away with our number one guy!!!
