6 MONTHS OLD!

Can you believe that I am already 6 months old???!!!

It has been an amazing week! I have done all sorts of really neat things, and don't know where to begin...

I was able to spend some time with grandma Schafer this week. I hadn't seen her in a while and she was amazed at how much I have grown! Mom and I had lunch with her, and then while mommy was in an appointment grandma and I went shopping together. We had lots of fun laughing and chatting.
After we got home I spent some time with Daddy watching my movie. Funny; my mom took a picture of us together, but I don't see me...

This week mom decided that I was big enough to start trying different kinds of baby food. I'd only had bananas, so I was really excited to try new things. Mom started with this green-looking paste. I was so anxious to eat it that I gobbled the whole spoonful with a big smile on my face...then I tasted it...

My whole body shook with disgust, and I let mom immediately know that I DID NOT like peas! She switched right back to bananas, and I was so thrilled that I grabbed a handful and smeared it ALL OVER my face!

I have decided that I like to play with my food more than I like to eat it.

This week I have been working on lots of exercises in therapy. My neck is getting a lot stronger and I am learning how to play with my feet. My therapist Karen showed me how to grab my feet and bring them to my mouth! One night while mom and I were getting ready for a bath I decided to show-off my new talent by sucking my toes!!!

This whole week my family was talking about my upcoming 6 month birthday. I couldn't understand why they were so excited for Saturday to come, until it did...

I woke up to my mom and dad singing me a funny song. After I ate an "extra-special-birthday-bottle" mom and dad let me play in my new birthday gift, an exersaucer! It is so cool; it lights up, it moves around, it makes noises, I LOVE it!

After playing for a while mom took me into the spa. She held me up and made motor boat noises as she pushed me around.

I quickly got the hang of it and understood why mom likes to kick back and relax in the spa.

After we hung out in the spa dad dressed me in my Green Bay Packers jersey (borrowed from Jackson) and the whole family watched the Packers stomp the Seahawks. It was an incredible game and Brett Favre played like a champ! Grandpa Schafer said that when they go to the super bowl we will take a road trip to Arizona to watch him play!!!

As if my day wasn't cool enough, mom and dad took me to the bowling alley. We had a great time, and EVERYONE in the bowling alley wanted to meet me and tell me HAPPY BIRTHDAY- apparently I was a big hit. I enjoyed watching all the action and looking at all the bright colors, especially the bowling balls.

After we left the bowling alley mom told me that I had one more birthday surprise. We stopped on the way home at Golden Spoon, and I was eager to get a small taste of mommy's like I usually do.

Much to my surprise, and excitement, mom and dad had gotten me MY OWN mini golden spoon! They set me up in my high chair and after singing me my birthday song let me loose...

I was so excited with disbelief that I stared at it wide-eyed for a minute...

With help I dove in for my first bite...

It was amazing, and I quickly wanted more...

Before too long I had it all figured out.

I even used to the spoon like a big girl...

By the time I was finished mom joked that I got more on my face than in my mouth...

I was so messy when I was done that mommy had to give me an extra long bath!!!

When my bath was done I got to eat another "extra-special-birthday-bottle." I could barely finish the bottle I was so tired. 4th and I crashed out in the new big-girl-bed that I slept in for the first time!

I had such an incredible 6-month birthday that I can't wait to see what is in store for my 1-year!
