Hello December!!!

Now that December was finally here it was time to start celebrating the Holiday Season!  We kicked it off with a trip to the Fashion Show mall for the Santa Experience.  Dreamworks brought a virtual reality ride/experience to a few malls around the country, and we were fortunate enough to have one here in Vegas!  Mom dressed us all in our Holiday dresses and, with the help of Uncle Will and Grandma Judy,  we all drove down to the Strip to see Santa and ride a sleigh to the North Pole!

Of course, we had to take a few obligatory pictures before leaving...

Presley was NOT interested in smiling for the camera- she wanted to get the show on the road!

The Fashion Show Mall was decorated for the Holidays and we took advantage of the extra time we had before our Santa appointment to take some more pictures.

Mom was thrilled when Nixon woke up, but it was difficult to get a photo of the 4 of us.

Nixon is going to be 2 months old in a few weeks, and we can't believe how fast time has gone by- although none of us can remember how life was ever complete without him!

Back in line, Mom, Will, and Grandma Judy had to work hard to entertain us during our wait.

It was finally time to start the experience, but the Shrek characters scared Presley a bit (I'm sure you can understand why), and she wasn't too interested in posing for the camera...

After meeting Elves, designing a sleigh, and taking a virtual reality sleigh ride in wind and snow (there was actually wind and snow- the whole thing was incredibly believable) we made it to the North Pole and got to meet with Santa.

The whole family enjoyed the visit, but getting a group shot was difficult.

Back at home that weekend, Dad and Will brought home the BIGGEST Christmas tree ever!  All of us worked hard to decorate it- some more than others...

Nixon wasn't interested, and took a nap on Santa instead.

At Awana that Sunday we dressed up as characters from the bible.  Macie was an Angel and I was Mary. We both designed our costumes ourselves...

We had tons of fun with Grandma Judy during her short visit here.  One of our favorite things we did was make gingerbread houses.

Presley liked eating MUCH more than decorating!!!

The following week we got RAIN!  Now, for some of you that might not be a big deal, for for us it was HUGE!  Macie couldn't wait to get out and play in it!

At first Presley and I watched from indoors,

but soon we all joined in the wet weather fun!

Nixon had a few days of tummy trouble and wanted to be held all the time.  Uncle Will snuggled with him while he caught up on some TV.  (Isn't technology wonderful?!?!?)

And Dad hung out with him and played some tunes!

After a few days he was back to normal.

At 6 weeks old experts say that most smiles are caused by gas, etc.  In this picture of Nixon sleeping I would agree,

but when he looks at you and smiles, I would challenge any expert that says he is not communicating...

Maybe he is smiling because there is always action in our house.  Check out our in home comedian as she brushed her teeth...

Macie was entertaining herself in the mirror and didn't know that Mom was watching from afar. When Mom started filming Macie became aware of her audience and really put on a show.

Speaking of shows, Presley recently went from not interested in TV at all to OBSESSED with everything Elmo and Mickey Mouse.  She will now watch the into and outro to the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!  In public she freaks out when she sees her favorite characters, and now LOVES going to Walmart because they have a Mickey Mouse ride at the exit.  Before they even walk in the front door Presley is shrieking "ride Mickey Mouse"!!

The adorable child seen riding the Mickey car becomes a horrible demon when the time comes to get off and leave the store.  Mom is working on it, but poor Presley screams and cries for almost 20 minutes after the ride is over.

She is getting to be such a grown up little girl, and she knows how and when to turn on the charm...

After our week of rain, the sun came back and brought warm weather with it- warm enough for us to jump on the trampoline at 8am in our bathing suits...

Presley took advantage of the warm weather and went on car rides whenever possible.

At Lifetime Fitness we celebrated the Holidays at their annual Reindeer Games (or Breakfast with Santa as it was previously called).  The family covered Dad in toilet paper and made him into a snowman...

We all had the chance to sit with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

During one of Santa's breaks Presley walked him through the room.

The whole family had a fun time at the event.  Macie and I spent lots of time at the face paint tables

and Presley enjoyed running around and playing games.

Even Nixon enjoyed himself.  When he wasn't sleeping he was chillin' out in his stroller.

There is still lots to do before Christmas is here. Mom tries her best to keep the little ones occupied while she runs errands around town, but sometimes she drops the ball...

Now that Nixon is "waking up" more and more we all compete for his attention (despite the fact that he is too young to do much of anything).  Macie, Presley, and I can't wait until he can officially join in the fun!!!

Check back soon to hear all about our Holiday fun and Nixon's 2 month birthday!
