First Week of Life is Filled with Action...

We made it!  Thanks to Grandma Joanie, and 4 incredibly well behaved little ones, we made the drive across the desert without any major incident!  Arriving in Arizona, Mom sighed with relief- I guess she was shocked that we actually made it.  (9 months of planning on both her and Aunt Hayley's part and no one was sure how things would all turn out).

It was amazing seeing our family at the wedding rehearsal and introducing everyone to our new baby brother.  Mom was SO proud of our amazing family!

One Week Old:

Mom tried to get some family pictures, but it was hard to get everyone to stay still...

Macie and I loved seeing our cousin Avery, and spent lots of time during the rehearsal playing with her!

Macie also enjoyed escorting her new Uncle in Law around the grounds.

Thanks to help from both Grandma's, Presley stayed occupied!

When the rehearsal was over, everyone went to a luncheon together.  Pa, Connie, and Great Grandma Jean got to meet Nixon for the first time.

Pa didn't want to put him down (he has been waiting for a grandson for years)...

Mom was impressed at how well Macie, Presley, and I behaved at lunch.  We all acted like ladies...

That night was Halloween, and though we didn't make a big fuss of it this year, we were still excited to dress up and get some candy!

Getting ready was quick and easy since Mom let us wear something from our dress up closet- she said that whatever we chose had to be simple and require NO makeup since we had to be at the wedding site early the next morning.  I chose to be Rainbow Dash, and Riley was a Pirate.  Mom had Presley wear Macie's bumble bee costume.

Pa, Michelle, Uncle Ryan, Aunt Liz, and Avery all joined our family for a fun night of trick or treating!

Presely and Avery were both dressed as bees, and it was SO cute seeing them walk together!

Presley was a little cautious of walking to strangers doors,

and instead of saying "trick or treat", she would just say "treat"!!!

Everyone had a fun time together, and Nixon enjoyed spending time with Grandma Joanie while she pushed him in the stroller.

Back at the rental house that night, Mom put the girls to bed and shortly after Dad drove in from Nevada.  Right away he laid down and snuggled with Nixon.

Bright and early the next morning the girls drove down to the wedding site to help Hayley get ready for her big day.

Mom waited until the last minute to get us ready- she was terrified that we would make a mess of ourselves before the wedding.  Here are a few pictures Mom and Uncle Will took before the wedding:

Mom loved our angelic dresses, and even made a lapel clip for Nixon's tux to match our outfits!

The wedding was beautiful, and we did a fabulous job as the flower girls!

Mom was thrilled that we were able to get a family picture together!

Mom and Dad were incredibly proud of their family that day!

The reception was a blast, and all of us girls provided the entertainment on the dance floor!

After dancing for hours, Macie was super excited to eat cake!!!

The night was a huge success, and Mom and Dad couldn't believe how WELL BEHAVED all of their children were.  Not a single fight, spill, mess, etc; who knew that could happen?!?!?

The next day our family tried to recover from all the action and excitement.  Grandma Joanie spent lots of time holding Nixon, while the rest of us slept and lounged on the couch.

On Monday we made our rounds, visiting friends and special places around town.  Here were are at our special bench at Chaparral Christian Preschool (which we miss a TON)!

During our trip we also saw tons of friends for play dates,

rode the train at the mall,

Ate lunch with friends at Sonoran Sky,

and went to the farm to see animals with Aunt Hayley!

Presley, although a little scared, enjoyed seeing horses (she is OBSESSED  with them)!

We all got a chance to ride Bugs for a lap around the arena.

Presley didn't want her ride to end.

The following day we had to pack up and head home to Nevada.  On our way out of town we stopped at the train park for a quick ride and some play time.

Our trip was a huge success, and we were grateful to see so many wonderful people and do so many wonderful things- thanks in a large part to help from Grandma Joanie! Even with an amazing baby- who regularly sleeps through the night after only one week-lugging 4 kids around town is lots of work!

The drive back home went well- Nixon slept most of the way, and the rest of us girls behaved well enough to avoid any major incidents.

Mom is glad to be home so that the family can settle in to our new life with our new blessing!
