On Wednesday morning (April 10th) Grandma Judy brought Macie and I to school so that Mom could go in to see her doctor. When we were all back home that afternoon she told us that her Doctor thought today was going to be the day the baby would arrive. Sure enough, when Dad got home from work, Mom packed the car to head to the hospital. Before leaving we took a few pictures with the family.
Mom and Dad couldn't believe that after 9 1/2 months it was time to add another member to our family. At the hospital they checked Mom in, and began monitoring her contractions.
Both Grandma and Aunt Hayley made it to the hospital in time for the doctor to break Mom's water and get the labor started. Aunt Hayley started a timer at 8:49pm to see how the birth would compare to Macie's...
Presley Layne Frankwick was born at 9:28pm (a quick 39 minutes from start to finish). Thanks to help from Dad, Mom was a champ and made it through without pain medication! Dad almost delivered her himself; the doctor wasn't even in the room when her head came out. Presley weighed 6lbs 4oz and measured 20 inches long- Mom and Dad's biggest baby yet!
Poor Presley came out SO fast that she was bruised all over her little face ):
While they weighed Presley Mom gave her signature post-labor thumbs up pose.
The nurses gave Presley her first bath, and afterwards she looked so clean and beautiful!
After everyone left the hospital Mom and Presley had an incredibly peaceful night- she didn't cry once, and Mom was able to get a total of almost 5 1/2 hours of sleep!!! They both woke up in the morning happy and smiling.
Dad stopped in to the hospital to give Mom and Presley a kiss before going to work.
After he left, Doctor's and Nurses were in and out of their room all day. Mom snapped a silly picture of Presley getting her hearing tested- she thought Dad would get a kick out of seeing her with earphones on.
After school that day both Macie and I went to the hospital to meet our new baby sister- we were SO excited!!!!
After we left, Mom and Presley hung out together and bonded.
She tried to take some pictures of her, but Presley wasn't up for any glamor shots...
Dad went back to the hospital that evening after putting Macie and I to bed and got to spend some quality time with his new baby girl.
Presley had another great night at the hospital and both her and Mom were able to get in some good rest.
So far she doesn't make much noise, and isn't much of a crier at all. Mom is wondering how long this is going to last...
Uncle Will went over to the hospital that afternoon to take some pictures of Presley.
Mom couldn't resist dressing her in a tutu...
After Presley had finally had enough, Mom put her to sleep and packed up the hospital room. While the doctors where finishing up the discharge papers Mom played around with Presley.
When Dad arrived at the hospital after work Mom and Presley were ready to go home!
Mom and Dad couldn't wait to bring her home to our family.
Our family is so blessed to have her with us, and we can't wait to see what life will be like with her at home...
