In the store Macie tried out all sorts of bikes,
but in the end, decided on a big girl princess bike! When we got home Dad set it up and the family went for a bike ride around the block.
The next morning we continued Macie's birthday celebration weekend by having a huge pancake breakfast and spending the day by the pool.
Macie had a blast, and the family was glad that we spent the weekend doing all the things Macie loves!
When the week started both Macie and I were thrilled to be back at school! Macie had missed her classroom, teachers, and friends, and greeted them all with BIG hugs!!!
Since she was traveling on her birthday, Mom brought cupcakes for Macie and her friends in the Sunshine Room.
Since Macie was officially a BIG girl, Mom took her to the doctor for her 3 year check up!
I had gone to the doctor the previous afternoon and had come home bragging all about what a big girl I had become- can you believe that I am almost 42 inches tall and weight almost 38 lbs...talk about growing like a weed...I told Macie that she was going to get shots at the doctor, and instead of throwing a fit like I had hoped, she genuinely seemed excited. Mom thought it was a little odd when she asked her if she could "please get her shots from the doctor", but figured she would change her tune once in the doctor's office.
To everyone's surprise her tune didn't change- in fact, as soon as she walked in the office she told the receptionist that "she was here to get shots from the doctor"!
In the room, she waited with anticipation:
Before getting shots, Macie was measured to see how much she had grown since last year. Believe it or not, Macie had grown so much that we aren't too far apart in size. She measured 38.5 inches and weighed 34 lbs!
When the time for her shots came she laid down without fuss- listen as she gets three shots, all without crying, and then thanks the doctor and hops off the table...
It turned out to be a week of Doctor appointments because a few days later Mom and Dad were at a checkup for the baby. They returned home with big smiles; the baby was developing well and everything was on track. The picture they brought was a little bizarre- the baby doesn't look very "baby like", but Mom assures me that it will be just fine!
September was a good month for Macie and I- we had a lot of "good friend" days. Mom is glad that we are becoming such buddies!
We spent a lot of time at home playing dress up- here are a few of Mom's favorite looks:
We had lots of fun at home this month. One night Mom braided my hair in 12 different braids- it was awesome!
I was so thrilled with my new look that I couldn't stop staring at myself in the mirror!
This month we celebrated our friend Ellie's birthday at Chuck E Cheese!
Macie and I did a LOT of playing and eating- it was a blast!
At school we did a lot of fun activities. On my first sharing day of the year I chose to bring "boom bear."
I have made a lot of friends at school, but Sophia has quickly become my bestest friend!!! We are inseparable at school:
Our morning routine has become pretty efficient- both Macie and I are dressed in ready in under 20 minutes. On most morning after we are dressed for school Mom lets us read books during the extra time.
Some mornings we choose to play with our animals instead.
Mom has been spending lots of time in my classroom at school. She helped out for Johnny Appleseed Day, and I loved having her there! We did all sorts of apple activities- we painted apple trees with our fingers,
made apple stamps, and sampled all sorts of apple foods- apple pie was by FAR my favorite!
After the room was clean. everyone got to go outside to play.
Mom took the opportunity to peek in on Macie to see how she was doing in her room. She found her outside walking with her class- Macie was surprised to see Mom pop out from behind the door.
Later in the week Mom spent some time in the Sunshine Room with Macie watching her play with her friends. Mom was impressed with how nice and polite she was in the classroom.
One of Mom's favorite things to do before we leave for school is have a photo shoot- check out Macie's newest pose...She is a HAM!
The best days in our family are the days when Macie and I are getting along with one another! Mom LOVES it when we are best buddies:
Macie has come a long way in her first month of school. She is already cutting on her own, and boy is she proud of herself!
Before the end of the month, Mom decided that Macie and I had been so well behaved that we would go somewhere special after school!
When she picked us up that day we were surprised to see Uncle Will and Aunt Hayley with her! We all drove down to downtown Scottsdale where Mom told us we would be riding a trolley around town- boy were we both surprised and excited!!!!
While waiting for the trolley to arrive Macie and I made a new friend!
The trolley drove us all around downtown and we learned a LOT about the history of Scottsdale.
When Macie grew bored listening to the driver, she made a new friend who was traveling all the way from Cairo, Egypt! She sat next to him for the rest of trip, telling him all sorts of stuff!
By the end of the trolley ride, both Macie and I were tired and hungry from a long day!
Mom took the family to the sugar shack where we feasted on ice cream and played games- what a fun day!
At the end of the month it was my sharing day again, and I chose to bring 3 of my dogs- thank goodness Macie was able to help me carry my heavy load.
October is coming up, and our WHOLE family is looking forward to the holiday season. On the first we are going to start decorating our house, and Mom can't wait to buy more scary things for the yard!
He he he...
