It's all Happening way too FAST...

Back in San Diego for Labor Day weekend we enjoyed some time at the beach.

The weather was fantastic and despite the brevity of our trip it was well worth the drive!

With our house in escrow the countdown to our mid October move date began.  Mom stayed busy all month working hard to pack up our house while the rest of use continued to enjoy a normal routine which meant school, soccer, and PLAY!  It was tough without Dad home to lend a helping hand, but the end was finally in sight and we couldn't wait to be back together as a family.

Even though Mom worked around the clock to sort, clean, and pack, she still managed to snap our pictures before school every day.

Mom kept tried her best not to over load our schedules- she wanted to make sure that we had lots of free time to play and appreciate all that we have had for the past three years.  We went on lots of neighborhood scooter rides,

some hikes (walks) through Red Rock,

played in the child center at Lifetime,

played at the Children's Museum,

spent as much time as possible with friends,

and even made the most of the time we had at home when Mom was too exhausted to go anywhere.

In those times of exhaustion Mom said she was really grateful that I am such a big helper.  Not only do I love making breakfast for everyone,

but I love creating craft projects.  I helped the little ones create costumes for stuffed animals.  This one is a cheer leader cheering for Macie at a soccer game.

When the mood is light and everyone is getting along life sure is amazing!

Mid month we were surprised by a quick visit from Grandma Joanie and her sisters.  We were incredibly grateful for the time we were able to spend with them!

I was thrilled that I was able to join the Cheer team at school this year.  Even though I was only able to perform a few times Mom and I both agree it was worth it!!!

Performing at our first back to school event was lots of fun and I'm grateful that all of my friends supported me.

Since we have moved SO many times Mom boasts that she has packing down to a science.  By the beginning of October she had managed to pack up all non essential items including most of our furniture.  She pre planned our school clothing through mid month and thought she had everything under control until the school sprung SPIRIT WEEK upon us!  Mortified that she had already packed our costumes she had to think on the fly this year.  Thankfully the dress up days weren't too eccentric this year...

Sun glass Day

Sports Team Day:

Western Day:

and Hawaiian Day:

Mom was grateful to find one of the boxes of accessories among the hundreds in the garage that had our floral leis.

Unfortunately we didn't have much for Presley and neither did any stores.  It was shocking that this close to Halloween no one had little hula outfits.  Mom got creative and had to make Presley a grass skirt out of a green plastic table cloth and elastic.  I guess she stayed up all night shredding the fabric to make the grass.

Spirit week left Mom exhausted, so after soccer on Saturday we got to lounge around and chill.  I don't think Nixon put on pants all afternoon!

On Sunday we ran errands around town.  As we were leaving the house, Nixon declared that he no longer needed help with anything since his 3rd birthday was coming up.  This made everything a little more frustrating and time consuming that it needed to be.  He insisted on strapping himself in his car seat, and wouldn't hold hands in the parking lot.  Mom couldn't stop laughing at what a drama queen her little boy was...

That afternoon Mom and Uncle Will took us to Loews to see all the Halloween decor.  It had become a favorite outing of ours, and Mom loves that, a. it is a 2 minute drive from the house, and b., it is FREE entertainment!!

Macie likes the decorations, but really goes because she has this fantasy that she will meet Jimmie Johnson there one day.  Mom has tried to explain to her that he drives for the company and doesn't spend his free Sunday's hanging out at the Loews in Las Vegas, but Macie is not a easy one to reason with.  It's pretty cute seeing how excited she is to point out all his pictures...

With less than 2 weeks of school left in Nevada every day is bittersweet.  We are all trying to stay positive and enjoy every moment.

Our "goodbyes" have started, and Mom knew that we couldn't leave Las Vegas without saying goodbye to the donkey.

The tears are coming often for all of us, but Mom is taking it the hardest.  On the difficult days she is thankful for our smiles as she reminds herself what she has told us each time we move; its not where you live, it's who you live with.  As much as we love living here, being with Dad is the most important thing.

The funny thing is, according to Mom, if someone had told her 20 years ago that she would be living in Las Vegas she would have told them they were crazy.  At that time the only Vegas she knew was the chaos and antics on the strip.  Little did she know that it would end up being one of her favorite places in the world.  The landscape, the people, the community, the ease of life and accessibility, it really is an amazing place to live and raise a family.  Saying goodbye is going to be so difficult...
