After months of counting down the days it was finally here...The Grzelak girls arrived in Las Vegas!!!
Mom, Macie, and I drove down to the strip to meet Miss Elizabeth and Ashlyn, and could hardly contain our excitement. We picked them up and drove over to the Cosmo (because where else would we go but to a place filled with sparkly chandeliers and fancy shoes????)
We had a great dinner and enjoyed our time catching up with special friends.
The following day Mom and I went shopping before meeting up with Ashlyn and Miss Elizabeth. We lasted 3 hours before my little legs were exhausted.
In the afternoon we drove over to their hotel to pick them up. On the walk to our car Ashlyn and I sat down at the slots for a quick photo op before security kicked us out.
We spent the remainder of our day playing, swimming, and eating at our house. It felt just like the good ol days in Ohio.
Early, and I mean EARLY, the next morning we drove down to the Velocity National Dance Competition to watch Ashlyn perform.
She was AMAZING, and after watching this video you will understand why she won FIRST PLACE this week for Mini Solo at Nationals:
Because poor Ashlyn was awake at 4am stretching and preparing for her 7am routine, we went back home so that everyone could rest up before the evening.
Refreshed and ready for some fun we got dolled up in some patriotic attire and drove down to meet the girls for some 4th of July fun.
We looked forward to every chance we had to spend with Ashlyn with tons of excitement and anticipation.
Before heading out for our evening of fun we posed for some pictures. Mom and Miss Elizabeth couldn't have been more proud.
Our first stop for our night was the Hershey store where we walked with wide eyes as we stared at all the amazing treats.
Each of us picked out something spectacular to snack on...
In a sugar coma after eating part of our snacks, we chose to walk down the strip and see the sights.
Back at the hotel we went to a 4th of July party with music, bounce houses and carnival games.
We stayed up so late that night that we had to take it easy the following morning. While Mom cleaned the house Macie worked on some of her "dance moves and stretches." Miss Elizabeth is encouraging her to join the dance world and Macie is all about it.
In the early afternoon we met the girls at the Planet Hollywood pool where we lounged pool side.
After some laps in the pool we decided to try the famous FlowRider.
We all had some great rides and some even better falls!
The next day 2 more Grzelaks arrived in Las Vegas! Dave and "boy" Riley came to join us for a few days of fun! While Mom and I had plans that evening to see BRITNEY SPEARS with Ashlyn and Miss Elizabeth, Dad and Macie planned a night full of silly antics at the Blue Man Group with Dave and boy Riley.
The two of them left for their "date night" while Mom and I started the long process of hair and makeup. While Mom was doing her own hair I played dress up with Presley and made her a fancy outfit.
Before long the two of us were dressed and ready!
Mom had worked hard to make me a fun concert outfit, but couldn't get over how grown up I looked when I put it on...
At Planet Hollywood we joined Ashlyn and Miss Elizabeth for some pre concert fun.
Thanks to Ashlyn being a FABULOUS dancer, we were able to meet one of the back up dancers for Britney Spears.
She was absolutely fantastic and managed to hook us up with the most AMAZING seats ever...
Ummm, FIRST ROW VIP TABLE. What?!?!?!?
We couldn't believe it. Mom and Miss Elizabeth were giddy with anticipation...
Our VIP seats were everything I had dreamed they would be. I was served a soda and candy at my seat and stared in awe at the show literally right in front of me.
I could have reached out and touched someone- in fact, I did get a high five from one of the dancers!!
The show was AMAZING! The sound, the lights, the costumes, and the set were all fantastic and Mom couldn't stop dreaming about how amazing it would be to design for a show.
The experience was a once in a lifetime and better than we could have imagined.
While we were living the VIP life in style, Dad and Macie were experiencing high energy fun with Dave and boy Riley.
You can tell by the pictures that they didn't have any fun at all...
Macie had SO MUCH fun that Mom is afraid she is going to run away and join the tour. Here she is hanging out with the band after the show. Macie was in her element for sure!
At 11pm- yes 11pm- we all met up for some fun before bed. It was another great night for the record books.
The next day Mom, Dad, Macie, and I met the Grzelaks on the strip for some more family fun.
Uncle Will took all 4 of us kids out for some Las Vegas fun while our parents went out for some fun of their own.
There was no shortage of things to do. Our first stop was the Bellagio where we toured the conservatory and watched the musical light show at the famous fountains.
A stop at Hershey world with boy Riley was next on our list, and all 4 of us were thrilled when we each got to fill a bag with our choice of candies!
Back at Planet Hollywood we stopped for some fun at the White House where we held a few press conferences.
Four years of this would be amazing...
Back in the room we stuffed ourselves silly and had the best pajama party ever!
I wasn't sure how the adults could possibly be having more fun that us, but according to Mom they had a blast. The evening started with a dinner and drinks at Hakkassan.
Mom said dinner was amazing but the company was even better.
The club and DJ lived up to its hype, but Mom's favorite part of the night was going out on the town with Dad and spending time with great friends.
The drive home at 4am was rough for all of us, and Presley woke Mom up bright and early at 6am while the rest of us lounged in bed until almost 10.
Despite her lack of sleep, Mom said that she wouldn't change a thing and hopes to do it all again soon! We were all sad that the Grzelak family had to fly back home to Ohio, but were more than grateful that they were able to spend so many fantastic days with our family.
Mom was mourning the departure of her BFF for a few days, but life was soon back to normal. The remainder of our summer is going to be even better than usual thanks to Dad's recent decision to take some time off work to spend with our family.
I celebrate my 9th birthday in a couple days and can't wait to find out what fun Mom and Dad have in store for the rest of July.
