It's definitely been a while. To say we have been busy is an understatement. I will do my best to catch you up on our lives as briefly as possible...
The month of October crept up on us and before we knew it Fall break arrived and we had two whole weeks off school! As a promise to Pa we cleaned ourselves up and took a few family pictures on Mt.Helix. He didn't realize how difficult it would be to get the whole family to look at the camera and smile at the same time.
We managed to get a few usable shots, but man was it tough!
That weekend Nixon played in his first soccer game. His cast had been off for a couple weeks and he was eager to get back in the game.
On Sunday I had cotillion and couldn't wait to get to class and see my friends. I really wish we had cotillion EVERY weekend!
While I was at cotillion, Mom was home packing the car and prepping for a late night drive to Las Vegas!!! After dinner that night we loaded the car and took off to see our friends. Our first stop the next day was to Manorwood to see Cari. Mom watched as we all walked together like old times.
Macie and I stayed with our friends while Presley and Nixon went to Fox Hill park to see Gunnar and Gage!
It was so AWESOME spending the afternoon running, laughing, and playing with the boys.
We are beyond grateful for the special friends we have made and kept along the way,
Though we were only in Vegas for a couple short days, we did manage to visit the Children's Museum.
On our last day in town we were able to watch Cari play in her middle school soccer game.
Saying goodbye is always the hardest part of each trip.
Back in San Diego we spent a few days at the ZOO and the beach since the October weather was fantastic.
That weekend Mom's friends from high school all came into town for their 20 year high school reunion. Her and Dad had a great weekend catching up with everyone.
The following week we took a trip to Scottsdale to visit Aunt Hayley and the Ketcham's. We couldn't wait to take a trip to "the farm" to see Aunt Hayley's horse BUGS.
One of the things we were most excited to do in Arizona was going to the all-time BEST children's museum EVER!!!
After a day at the museum Mom dropped Macie and I off at ASU for a special tour with Miss Andrea. She showed us around campus and gave us a behind the scenes tour of her job as a professor. Mom thinks that I would really enjoy her job since writing, researching, and teaching are all things I enjoy.
The next day we went to the train park!
On Saturday the Ketcham's took us to a wildlife sanctuary in North Scottsdale.
It was amazing to see and interact with the animals up close.
Mom and Miss Andrea had a little too much fun. We can't take them anywhere...
We had a fantastic time with the Ketcham family and are so grateful for their friendship.
On the way out of town we stopped at Aunt Hayley's to say goodbye to her and Jensen. When we got there Nixon was thrilled to discover that they had set up a surprise birthday party for him!
I think it's safe to say that the cake was his favorite part...
After we stuffed ourselves with cake we spent some time at a local park in Gilbert before driving back home.
The next morning was Nixon's 5th birthday! That's right, Nixon is 5! We can't believe that 5 years flew by.
We celebrated at breakfast with tiger decorations and all of his favorite treats before getting ready for school.
It was sports day and Nixon let Presley wear his soccer uniform; he is such a sweet boy!
While we were at school Mom took Nixon to meet Grandma for some birthday fun at Sea World.
Nixon enjoyed his day full of love and laughter with Mom and Grandma.
After school that afternoon we went to the park for a little birthday celebration with the Garretts. We are so lucky to have found such amazing and thoughtful friends.
For his birthday gift Nixon got a Legoland season pass! A couple days later Nixon and his best friend Hayden spent the day having an AWESOME time.
The week of fun continued the following day at the Zoo.
It's crazy to think that Nixon is already 4 years old. He is such a sweet and considerate kid. He adores his family and always thinks of others first. Each and every day he brings a smile to all of our faces.
