It's crazy to realize how grown up she has become. Where did all the time go?
On the morning of her fifth birthday Presley woke up bright and early. She was a bundle of energy and couldn't wait for her day to get started. For breakfast she requested "Eggo waffles with pink cream cheese." Mom got off easy this year!
After eating she opened a few cards and gifts from our family.
For her big day she asked to spend the day at Sea World with Dad- only Dad.
She couldn't wait for the fun to start.
After a few rides and some fun in Elmo's World Dad and Presley went to the dolphin arena to eat lunch and watch them swim.
To their surprise the trainers happened to be feeding the dolphins and asked Presley if she wanted a special up close dolphin experience. She was so thrilled when she was able to feed, touch, and even command them. It was an amazing addition to her very special day.
Before they left one of the trainers took their picture and happened to snap the best photo bomb ever!
To commemorate her special experience Dad bought her a stuffed dolphin which she clutched tight for the rest of the day.
Presley was exhausted from her day of fun when she arrived back home that afternoon, but was thrilled when she walked into a house decorated just for her with a table full of all her favorite foods- mini corn dogs, veggies, hummus, and watermelon.
She had a fantastic day filled with all of her favorite things and after dinner it only got better. She opened her gifts from the family and among them were passes to Legoland!!! Talk about a fantastic fifth birthday surprise.
The following day Presley went to school and got to celebrate with her classroom of friends.
Mom thinks she was most excited about the donut holes she brought in.
Later that week Macie, Presley and I all started tennis lessons.
The three of us enjoyed learning the basics of the game until Presley got bored and lost focus. Mom suggested she help pick up tennis balls while the two of us continued the lessons. A few minutes we heard her proudly exclaim "hey look...I'm a Mom!" She was so proud of herself and Mom couldn't help but laugh at her mini me.
That Saturday we decided to take advantage of the fantastic San Diego weather and go to the beach!
As always it was a day full of fun and entertainment.
While Macie and I were back in school that next week Mom took Presley and Nixon for a visit to Legoland!
Presley was all smiles as we enjoyed all the fun rides and attractions.
Walking through Heartlake City was exciting for Presley. Mom said that she loved seeing all the girls that she plays with at home.
They spent a whole day playing and closed down the park (which disappointingly closed at 5).
Instead of sitting in traffic on the freeway Mom took them to Presley's favorite restaurant, Rubio's, for dinner! Boy were we jealous when they got home!
After a full week Grandma Judy surprised Presley and took her to the Del Mar horse track.
Not only did she get to meet and pet tons of horses, but she also got to ride and learn tips on how to show a horse.
Presley's horse was Annie (Annie Bananie). Presley paraded her around the entire ring and received a trophy for her efforts
She also competed in the stick horse race and won first place!
Her first experience at the horse track was amazing and she is now determined to talk Mom and Dad into getting her a horse...
According to Mom, Presley isn't the only one growing up quickly. Nixon loves helping do work around the house and has become quite the gentlemen. He is helpful, kind, and considerate.
Not to mention, BIG. Mom and Dad want to know when their littlest kid got so big...
Speaking of big, they both keep telling me that I am looking and acting more and more like a teenager every day.
And sassy...
The end of the school year is rapidly approaching and summer will be here before we know it! Mom is counting down the minutes until we can all sleep in, relax by the pool, and enjoy the perks of summer in San Diego!!!
