Catching Up...

Back home in Las Vegas our family celebrated Presley's 3rd birthday! Mom and Dad couldn't believe that their little bright eyes was 3 years old!!!

Presley had requested a "tiki man" birthday, so Mom decorated the kitchen with Tiki statues and birds.  She was thrilled when she woke up and went downstairs.  Mom's heart melted when Presley said "Thank you Mommy so much for my tiki mans, this is the best day in my whole world!"

While Mom was making breakfast Macie and I dressed Presley in a birthday princess outfit.  We even did her makeup!

She was most excited when Mom pulled out her very own bag of Pirate Booty!  Presley even got to eat some before breakfast!

Her Tiki Man birthday was off to a great start!

That afternoon we had a small birthday party with our neighborhood friends.

Presley couldn't stop smiling as everyone sang her happy birthday!

Macie and I both bought her presents with our own money- we even wrapped them ourselves.

Presley was grateful for the thoughtful gifts that she was given.

When asked what she really wanted for her birthday, she told Mom and Dad that she wanted to go to Disneyland and see the tiki man.  Macie and I had school and Dad had work, so Mom and Dad planned a special day trip to Disneyland with Uncle Will (we are so incredibly lucky to have such a helpful friend who really has become a part of our family).

The morning after her birthday Mom woke Presley up early and got her ready for the drive to Disney.  Dressed as Minnie Mouse, she couldn't stop smiling with excitement!

The 3.5 hour drive went quickly.  It helped that she got to watch her favorite Disney movies on the way.

The walk through downtown Disney to the entrance only heightened her excitement- she could hardly sit still...

Once in the park she let out a huge "hooray!"

She couldn't have been a happier little girl!

Inside the Tiki Room Presley danced, sang and laughed; a special birthday for a super special little girl.  She fills the world with sunshine when she smiles!

After the Tiki Room they went to Toon Town to ride Mickey's Roller Coaster (Gadgets Go Coaster).  She didn't enjoy it at all...

After 3 rides they took a break and walked through Mickey and Minnie's houses.  Inside Mickey's house Presley stood perplexed as she stared at the holographic image of Mickey Mouse in the Mirror.

In Fantasy Land Presley rode all of her favorite rides; the train, Peter Pan, and of course, the carousel!!

Tired and hungry, they stopped for some food.  Despite waking up early and not taking a nap, Uncle Will said that Presley's behavior was phenomenal!

The short break gave them the energy to power through a few more rides before the end of the day. Check out the silly pirate face she made before getting on the ride:

After a few more rides it was time to head back home.  On the way out of the park Uncle Will bought Presley a huge Minnie Mouse cookie.  Even exhaustion couldn't stop her from smiling and devouring the yummy treat!

Dressed in her jammies with bunny and blankie Presley settled in the car for the long drive home.

She made it through a short portion of a movie before passing out.  I'm sure her dreams that night were full of magic!

In the morning she shared all the excitement of her day.  This is what the Tiki Men looked like playing the drums...

That week Mom spent lots of time catching up on errands from the two weeks we spent in California. While waiting for an oil change Presley and Nixon played around at Burger King.

Presley re enacted scenes from the Tiki Room for most of the morning.

Nixon just laughed as he ran around the room.  He adores watching his big sister!

For Macie and I our week was business as usual.  We didn't have anything exciting going on, but we had fun helping Mom pick out outfits for school.  She has started to let us help her in the mornings!

At the end of the week Grandma Joanie and Uncle Shaun came to visit!  We hadn't seen them in almost a year and were SO excited to have them at our house.  They only had a few days in town, so we made sure to pack every moment full of fun and exciting things.

We took them to the High Roller at the Linq.  The ride took 30 minutes and showed them some breath taking views of our city and the surrounding mountains.

Over the 2 days that Grandma and Shaun were here to visit we went to the Children's Museum,

the buffet at Red Rock, the Container Park, the Springs Preserve,

2 soccer games, and the bowling alley!

Mom was impressed when Dad showed that his bowling arm never gets too rusty!

In addition to all our activities we made sure to spend lots of quality time with them at the house.  We were sad they weren't able to stay for longer, but are very grateful for the time we were able to spend with our family!

The following week Mom was busy getting things ready for Macie's class at school.  While she was occupied one morning little Miss Presley got into a bag of Pirate Booty.  She denied it at first, but unfortunately for her Mom's detective skills are top notch...

With only a month left of school the first graders have themed days that coincide with letters of the alphabet.  Here are some pictures from her first week (we didn't get a picture of animal day):

 B: Backwards Day

C: Crazy Hair Day

To my surprise, Mom let me join in the fun for Crazy Hair Day and even let me wear blue hair chalk!

For D: Dancing Day, we opted to spend the day with Dad at work for National "take you child to work day."  Macie and I had lots of fun at Lifetime- check back soon to hear all about it!
